I recall hearing "Radio Free Europe" on a college radio station for the first times and I was immmediately struck by how very little R.E.M. sounded like the rank and file (and I stress "rank" here) new-wave stereotype band/5().
  7. After “Shaking Through,” there’s a little palate-clearing instrumental bit, and Murmur finishes with two songs I’m not going to write about, the bouncy annoyance “We Walk” and the just fine “West of The Fields,” making it my all-time favorite album that doesn’t end .
